Sticking To A Vegan Diet: Turning Your Failures Into Success

When you’re making changes and learning new skills (like going vegan) your failures are an important part of being successful. In this video that I did in my Black Vegan Academy Facebook group. I share how to turning your failures into success is a key part of sticking to your vegan diet.

We all have failures from time to time. This does not mean you ARE a failure. It is not an indicator of your ability to accomplish your goals. Failure is a part of growing and learning. It’s a VALUABLE part of making progress.

To me, failure means you are trying. It’s what you do with those failures that counts. When I’m working with my coaching clients I help them take their challenges, trouble spots and straight up failures and use them to create solutions. Solutions that will allow them to consistently eat better, look better and feel better on many levels, mind, body and soul. To stay dedicated to their plant-based lifestyle. Period. No exceptions.

After you watch the video here are your action steps (use your journal):

#1 Awareness: Describe a recent failure or trouble spot where you fell off the wagon, or had a very hard time staying persevering. Or choose a situation that is a frequent problem for you.

#2 Clarity: Identify where the decision point were that led to your struggle or failure. What was happening that caused you to get off track?

#3 Possibility: Brainstorm several alternatives that you could try instead. Think outside the box. Let your imagination go wild.

#4 Implementation: Choose one option and create a plan for how you’ll implement it the next time you confront this challenging situation. Keep refining (or go back to step 2 and 3 until it works!)

My biggest challenge is living with family that don’t care to be vegan. I have started a new venture and funds are getting better; but until I reach my goals, I cheat a lot when funds are low.

Living with non-vegans is a challenge for sure! I applaud your commitment to do this despite your family. While many trendy vegan foods can be expensive the basics are often cheaper then meat and dairy. How can you replace the expensive items with budget friendly ones? Think about where you can shop, what can be purchased in bulk, and how making things from scratch can save you $$. Yay Monica! Keep on moving forward. You got this!!
